LEGO Creator Roaring Roadster
Lego's Creator line a collection of flexible, intricate model sets that come with detailed diagrams to make several different models. This one shows you how to create the Roaring Roadster, a sleek black convertible coup, in 74 steps, but also includes full-color diagrams on building a jeep in 68 steps and a dragster in 37 steps. Photos in the instructions show, but don't diagram, alternate motorcycle, formula 1 racer, and big rig models. The secret to this kind of flexibility is, of course, in the parts. The set comes with 913 individual parts. With that many pieces, it would be a good idea to grab a plastic portable organizer to make construction and storage a whole lot easier. Both the coup and Jeep models feature hinged doors and hood, rack-and-pinion steering, and reclining seats. It's a challenging model to build, but it will be rewarding for those just wild about auto design. Inside the box you'll find 13 parts bags, four plastic tires, and three instruction booklets.
